Like many businesses, Faringdon in Stitches emerged during the lockdown in the UK. However, unlike many others, it was not a result of furlough. Instead, the idea to form a business was sparked by the creation of a custom Christmas stocking for our granddaughter, and the embroidery of custom work shirts.

Faringdon In Stitches came into existence with the aim of gradual expansion over the next few years, aspiring to potentially evolve into our primary source of income. Astonishingly, within less than a year, the business experienced rapid growth, witnessing a steady influx of daily orders and securing contracts for both work and club clothing which prompted the doubling of the machines to meet the demand.

Having inherited a passion for sewing from a family member, who was a skilled upholsterer and seamstress, we nurtured our love for the craft throughout our childhood, creating clothing for dolls. We have formal education in needlework, including a CSE Grade 1 qualification. Upon acquiring our first embroidery machine, we discovered the expansive world of embroidery through engaging with supportive social media groups.
